Shelina Jiwani, PGCE, BSc (hons)

STEAM teacher

My name is Shelina Jiwani and I run E2 Young Engineers Hillingdon and South-West Hertfordshire.
I recently completed my post-graduate studies in Primary Education (PGCE) from Brunel University, with a specialism in ‘Mathematical thinking’. My teaching career over the past 6 years involves working within Early Years, as an Early Years Educator in a Montessori setting, as well as teaching Key Stage 1 and 2 at various schools in the Middlesex area.

Prior to this, I completed a Batchelor of Science degree with honours in Management studies from Aston University in 2006 and worked in the field of human resources and finance in the city.

I strongly believe that investing in good quality education in young children during his/her primary years is so important. It is the foundation of life, their emotional, social and physical development skills are built within the first few years, and programmed for life! Studies have also shown that this period of their life has a direct effect on their overall development and on the adult they become. At E2 Young Engineers, our staff and team’s goal is to develop this foundation so as to make them strong leaders in themselves and to promote the love of learning, as well as to enhance their confidence and determination to build on subjects such as science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM learning).
